COFFEE LIQUEUR

 

½ cup   filtered water

½ cup   turbinado sugar

1 cup    vodka (or rum or bourbon)

½ cup   coarse ground coffee *

½ vanilla bean and seeds (or 1 tsp vanilla extract)


In a small saucepan on medium heat, bring water to a boil. Add the sugar and stir until it has dissolved to create a syrup. Allow to cool.

In a bottle or Mason jar, combine the turbinado syrup with the vodka, ground coffee, vanilla bean and seeds.

Cover and let sit on the counter at room temperature for 24 hours.

Strain into a clean bottle or jar using a pour over dripper or mesh sieve lined with a coffee filter.
