Light-bodied with hints of tropical fruit, cocoa and honey
This coffee was grown by a small group of family farmers in the La Cañada region of Oaxaca, Mexico. Each farmer owns ½ to 3 hectares of land at an elevation of 1,200 to 1,500 meters where the humidity and altitude create ideal growing conditions. This coffee was grown organically without the use of pesticides or fertilizers.
The farmers belong to the Union de Productores Las Flores which provides the beneficio (wet mill) to process the ripe coffee cherries into green coffee beans. The majority of La Cañada farmers, pickers and beneficio workers still speak the indigenous language of the region.
NOTE: Mexican coffees tend to be lighter bodied with mild flavours.
